LEGAL
Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of this website. They do not govern any insurance policy you take — that is governed by the policy wording issued by the insurer.
Effective: 21 August 2026
1. About this website
This website is operated by Insurance Point, a sole proprietorship based in Bengaluru. Insurance is solicited through individually licensed IRDAI agents operating under Insurance Point; licence details are published on our disclosures page.
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What this website is — and is not
This website is an information and enquiry service. It is not a quotation platform, and nothing on it constitutes an offer of insurance.
- We do not issue policies. Policies are issued by the insurer, on the insurer's terms.
- No cover exists until an insurer has accepted your proposal, received the premium, and issued a policy document.
- Prices, product availability and terms are set by insurers and can change without notice.
- Submitting an enquiry does not create cover, reserve a price, or oblige either of us to proceed.
3. The planning calculators
The calculators on this site produce indicative planning ranges only. They are deliberately simple, and they are not insurer quotations, premium calculations, underwriting decisions, or personalised financial advice.
The assumptions behind each calculator are stated on the calculator itself. Specifically:
- Motor IDV: applies a straight depreciation factor to a value you enter. Actual Insured Declared Value depends on the manufacturer's listed selling price, the exact variant, accessories, condition and the insurer's own schedule.
- Health cover: scales a base figure by the number of people and the oldest member's age band. Actual suitable cover depends on medical history, city of treatment, hospital preference, existing cover and policy features.
- Life cover: applies a simple income multiple. Actual need depends on liabilities, dependants, existing assets, goals and existing cover.
Do not make a purchase decision on a calculator output alone. Speak to us, and read the insurer's policy wording and Customer Information Sheet before you buy.
4. Information published here
We aim to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but insurance products and regulations change. Educational content on this site is general in nature and does not take account of your particular circumstances.
Where we link to external sites — including IRDAI — we do so for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
5. Insurer names and logos
Insurer names shown on this site identify companies operating in the Indian insurance market. Their appearance does not by itself imply a current agency appointment, endorsement, partnership or preferred arrangement unless expressly stated. Our current authorised insurer relationships are listed on our disclosures page.
6. Contacting us on WhatsApp
Buttons on this site open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Using WhatsApp is your choice; the conversation is carried on WhatsApp's infrastructure under WhatsApp's own terms. Do not send us payment card details, passwords, OTPs or full Aadhaar numbers over any messaging channel. We will never ask you for an OTP.
7. Payments
This website does not collect payments. Premium is paid to the insurer through the insurer's own approved payment channel. If anyone asks you to transfer premium to a personal account, treat it as fraud and call us on +91 94497 21782 to verify.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site to submit false information, attempt unauthorised access, disrupt its operation, or scrape it at a scale that affects other users.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on indicative calculator outputs or general educational content on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your rights under the policy your insurer issues, or your rights under IRDAI regulations.
10. Intellectual property
The design, text, photography and marks on this site belong to Insurance Point or are used with permission. You may read and share pages; you may not republish the content as your own.
11. Grievances
If something goes wrong, our escalation path is set out on the grievance redressal page. You always retain your right to approach the insurer's grievance channel, the IRDAI Bima Bharosa portal, and the Insurance Ombudsman.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies.
